Since 2000, the RLR Scholarship has granted more than $1.07M in college tuition to 22 Tigard High School graduates.
The scholarship was founded by Robert “Bob” L. Ragel, a THS graduate in the Class of 1956 and honored as a Distinguished Alumni in 2015. He ascended from humble roots to later become a successful entrepreneur in the petroleum industry. After moving his family to Arizona, he wanted to remain connected to his alma mater by giving back through an annual scholarship fund for THS seniors with dreams of attending an Oregon state university or college. As a life-long philanthropist, Bob had high hopes for ambitious THS students, like himself, to have the ability to continue working toward their goals.
In loving memory of Bob, the RLR Scholarship is managed by his family members:
Tracey Pritulsky, President
Julie Winn, Secretary
Cara Bobrowitz, Treasurer
Marian Ragel, Director
Cameron Pritulsky, Director
Austin Winn, Director
The scholarship was established as a grant making fund for Tigard High School students. The scholarship does not discriminate based on race, sex, color, creed, or religion of the recipient.
